Wedding Wednesday!

Hello everyone!
I hope I didn't scare you away with my little rant the other day...it happens.
Last week I talk about bridesmaids this week I would like to focus on venues.

My dream wedding would be outside.
Ceremony during the day.
Reception at night.
Lights hung in the trees.
Very old fashioned.
Everyone would release a lantern at the end.
Perfection.

Unfortunately, the weather is not always our friend. Knowing my luck it would rain the day of my wedding & we would be lost. Plus, no one seems to like the idea of a backyard wedding.
So I have decided to have my wedding & reception at my church.
Here are the list of venues I would choose if money wasn't an issue:

excuse me while i go cry.
all you single ladies out there!
start saving NOW.
i wish i would have.

xo.

Thanks Kelly!

awkward moments at the gym

Lets be real here.
I have to wear a body hugging white dress.
While people are snapping pictures of me from every angle.
I am not a toothpick.
I have some work to do.

I started off my work out tonight by forgetting a shirt. Yes, I brought my yoga pants, sports bra, & tennis shoes. No shirt.
Therefore I was forced to work out in my work shirt. I looked awesome.
Next I pick the one machine with a broken TV.
Thank the Lord I had my iPod.
Within about 4 minutes I am winded.
I want to give up.
Then I see myself in the reflection of my broken screen.
A sudden boost of energy hits me.
I then decide to pray to myself the whole time.
Until I realize I am mouthing everything I am praying & people notice.
Oh then my favorite part.
With a big sweaty red face, a fancy shirt, yoga pants, & tennis shoes
I run into a girl who doesn't particularly like me.
There was a deletion off of facebook incident.
I shall never be forgiven apparently.
She gladly waved hello looking prettier than ever.
I waved.
With my head down.
In shame.

Hoping for a better work out experience tomorrow!
Time to hit the showers.

MY rant about YOUR "2 cents"

First of all who came up with that saying & what does it even mean?

If you couldn't tell by the title of this post I'm a little frustrated (understatement of the year). People everywhere feel the need to give me their "2 cents". Some advice is good, some is very very wrong, & some needed not be said at all. Well, I have come to a point in my life where everyone & their mother feel the need to tell me their concerns. Yes, Justin is my first boyfriend. Yes, I am young. Yes, I probably don't know what marriage is really like. Guess what? IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. none! Nothing about my relationship with Justin has to do with anyone but me & Justin. That's it. That's where the list of important people ends. I don't need to hear the horror stories. I don't care that your cousin's neighbor's ex girlfriend married some guy when she was my age & he left her with 4 kids & no job. I don't care that your husband is not the man you thought he was when you were my age. I don't care that you have been divorced 3 times because you have daddy issues. I am not those people. You know nothing about my relationship. Also, since when am I the minority? "What?! You guys aren't going to live together before you're married?" No, no we are not. While I'm on the topic I'm astounded by the amount of couples who live together who have no intention of marriage. REALLY? What is the difference? Commitment? Even when I hear people talk about how they never intend on marrying their boyfriend who lives with them I don't say a word. It's not my place. I don't care. Why is it that people feel the need to scare me out of marriage? I have no fear in our relationship. Justin & I coming together had nothing to do with me. It had everything to do with God. By my faith in God I know that I'm going to be OK. I have not taken this relationship lightly by any means. I am praying constantly for us, for him, and for our future. I'm also not blind. I know Justin is not perfect. No one is. I know I can't change him & I don't want to! I love him for his flaws & his quirks.

Topic #2. My wedding is MY wedding. Not YOUR wedding. Mine. I do what I want. Leave me alone. If I want to walk down the aisle to Coldplay, I'm going to. If I want soup & bread bowls as my meal, I'm going to. If I want all of my nieces & nephews in the wedding, I'm going to. Why is everyone so concerned about what my wedding is like? Also, why is +1 a thing?! Unless you are dating someone you do NOT need to bring anyone to my wedding. I think you'll last the whole 3 hours without a buddy who came for the free food. Oh yeah no alcohol & no dancing! (I'll wait till you're done immediately judging my family in your mind) if I get compared to Footloose one more time I'm going to scream! I do not dance. I do not want to dance. Frankly, I think it's one of the most embarrassing things people do in public. Even more than picking your nose.

So in conclusion all of this is to say back off & let me enjoy my engagement.
thank you.

love,
bridezilla.

ps mom this is NOT about you. you have been wonderful.

an oil change, a Harely hoodie, a brat party, & peach lemondade (HappyList XII)

What do you all these things have in common?
Nothing.
Other than they are all making me EXTREMELY happy this week!
Justin has this week off of school so I've gotten to see him every. single. day.
#bestweekever

1. Justin the sexy oil changer.
s: "you look so cute! why are you wearing that hat?"
j: "i don't know. it said to online"

..
2. Best pizza I've ever had from Jetts? Is that right Justin? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

3. Justin's Harley Davidson hoodie. I was cold one night so he let me wear it home. Comfiest thing of my life. Little does he know he's never getting it back. Mwah ha ha.
4. Grocery shopping with my future husband. Best thing ever. We agreed to grocery shop together at least once a year on our anniversary because it was so much fun.

5. Planning a last minute "brat party" simply due to the fact that Justin picked out a 20 pack of brats.
Here is how the conversation went down...
s: "wow that's a lot of brats"
j: "yeah that's ok we can eat them the next couple of days."
s: "yeah, or we could have a brat party tomorrow & invite our friends."
j: "oooh friends! we never see them!"
s: "yeah we could buy a whole bunch of food & grill out on the deck"
j: "why aren't you texting people right now? I'm getting the hamburger meat"

6. Calypso Lemonade (mentioned in a previous happy list) is the best thing ever. Not only do they have the best flavors but I love the glass bottles. I use them for my juice or water in the morning. Justin buys them so often I have a nice little collection. We tried the Southern Peach tonight. I die.

7. The weather! It has been stupid nice outside this week. It was in the 80's today. Let me tell you that is NOT typical 'sconsin weather in March. No worries it will probably snow next week.

8. Wedding planning. A joy & a pain all wrapped into one.

9. Buying Get Smart. It was in the $5 movie bin at Walmart. Oh my gosh did I laugh tonight. I forgot how funny that movie was. Worth every penny.

10. Thinking about my life this time last year & being so completely in awe of God & all He has done. So much has happened in 1 years time it's insane. A post for another time but a year ago I was at one of my lowest points in life. Not only did God restore joy in me but He brought me my future husband.
Still so unreal.

Happy Thursday!
We will be enjoying our last minute party tonight.
xo.

Wedding Wednesday!

Since planning my wedding is my most favorite thing to do ever I'm going to keep you all updated each week. Thanks to blogging & pinterest I am overwhelmed with great ideas. I'm planning to have a Vintage Fall themed wedding. I have the whole thing pictured in my mind of what I want. The hard part is making it come to life. On a budget.

Today I would like to focus on Bridesmaids. I have decided that I want everyone to look their best. I also don't want it to look uniform. Forcing everyone to wear the same dress is just wrong (in my opinion). I want each bridesmaid's personality & beauty to really shine. That being said each lady will be picking their own dress within a color scheme of my choosing. I plan to go with all of them to pick out their dress (not that I don't trust them ;) ). I want them to keep the vintage theme going so old fashioned dresses will be strongly encouraged.

Here are few I like...

Now here is where I need your help. I still need to ask the ladies to be my bridesmaids. I want to do it in a cute creative way but I'm stuck. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

100 funny things

Said with such attitude.
j: "I was going to finish patching up my car but then I had to come here so I didn't!"

Found Justin's tickle spot.
victory is mine!

Watching House
s: "Oh my gosh. What happens? What's wrong with him?"
j: "He has a disease & they save him."
s: "No fair you've seen this."

Tickling me
s: "My dad is going to yell at you."
j: immediately stops.

s: "Ew Justin! I look 500 times bigger than you in this picture!"
Dad: "no I'd say about 350 times"

Singing Blink-182 in the car
s: "Where do we go from here? I'm feeling this! uh na na na na na...I'm feeling this!"
j: "what was that?!"
s: 'I didn't know the words. Shut up"
j: "when did you get so cute?"

At Walmart
s: "ok here is the bread my mom likes. At least I think she does. I hope this is right kind. She's going to be mad if it isn't. It looks like the right kind."
Justin is gone.
Find Justin.
s: "Hey! I was talking to you the whole time! You weren't even there!"
j: "ha I know"

what I thought justin said: "do you still have that water?"
I hold my bottle of water in front of his face silently hoping he'd grab it.
what he really said: "do you see all that water?"
his look of confusion was priceless.

At McDonalds
(I'm lactose intolerant)
j; "I'll take 2 parfaits. What do you want?'
s: "vanilla cone. heh heh."
j: "a vanilla cone & a transformers toy."
man hands Justin the cone.
Justin shoves the whole thing in his mouth.
s: "HEY"
j: "you can't have this! you'll get sick!"
s: "no I won't it's frozen yogurt!"
gives me the rest of the cone.
pause.
j: "No it's not! You just made that up!"
s: "No really someone told me that!"
j: "You're such a liar!"

10 minutes later.

s: "ugh! I don't feel good! Take me home!"
j: "See, I don't even feel bad for you."
s: "be nice to me! I'm your WIFE!"
j: "Not yet"
s: *LOUD GASP* "Why are you SO mean?!"
j: "What? You're not"

Jumps on top of me landing on my foot.
s: "owie owie owie owie owie owie owie owie owie owie owie!!!"
j: "what what what?"
s: "You broke my foot you jerk! owie owie owie owie owie"
j; "let me see"
s: "look it's swollen!"
j: "no, the other one looks fatter."

Justin runs in the room with a huge grin.
s: "what just happened?"
j: "your mom was sleeping on the couch so I was looking at her & then she opened her eyes & saw me so I got scared & ran in here."

Saying good bye.
j&s: go in for a hug both slap each others back & walk away.
die laughing.

I understand a lot of this won't be funny to you reading it but tonight was the funniest night of my life.
Justin is the very best.

Weekend Update

I had a fantastic weekend.

Friday night was a girl night with my friends Tracie and Sara.
We went to Bayshore for food & shopping.
Love those two.
Tracie got me an awesome Marilyn Monroe mug. I should have taken a picture.

Saturday I got to sleep in. It was glorius.
Then Benton gave Justin a make over.
After the make up party we went over to Kelly & Ken's for an engagement party.
Kelly is one amazing party planner.
I'm jealous of her skills.
Look at how adorable everything was decorated!
cutest cupcake EVER.
It was a vintage movie theme.
So perfect!
We had a really great time!

Sunday we spent the day with Taylor.
We ate lunch at Jersey Mike's (it was OK. not the best)
Then we discovered a new frozen yogurt place.
Justin ate a pound (literally, they weigh it) of frozen yogurt & offended some customers.
That's my man.
Did some mall shopping. Got the boys Star Wars lunch boxes.
Then we saw John Carter.
I thought it was going to be dumb but it was so so good! I highly recommend it!

Oh & here is Taylor eating ice cream.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!
xo.

Justin got the stomach flu the night he proposed. (That doesn't mean anything right?!)
He then gave me the stomach flu.
I am recovered from that only to now have a cold/allergy/sinus thing.
awesome.
This is me. Every night.
real attractive.
engagement life is so much fun.
ps
last night I had a nightmare my ring turned into glitter dust & disappeared.
I may have woke up crying.
I'm a little attached.

I'M GETTING MARRIED I'M GETTING MARRIED I'M GETTING MARRIED I'M GETTING MARRIED I'M GETTING MARRIED I'M GETTING MARRIED

I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!

March 4, 2012

Yesterday started off like a normal Sunday. Went to church for our last pre-marital class. Then lunch at Panera with my two favorite people.
Justin was dressed so adorable. Here is a picture of him in his new suspenders.
What a stud.
After lunch we went back to my house to my house to watch Money Ball.
(I slept through it. Shocker.)
It was a lovely relaxing day.
Little did I know my life was about to be changed forever.

At about 5:15 Justin says
"OK, we have plans. Lets go. Bring gloves and a blanket."
I thought this was odd but I was super excited!
I was praying it would be the carriage ride I had been DYING for all winter.
We get in the car and he hands me a thick headband to put over my eyes. I rode the whole way there blindfolded so I had no idea where we were going. He finally let me take the blind fold off when we arrived at the parking structure. We start walking toward the Pfister Hotel and he tells me we're eating dinner there.
(he was kidding)
"With a blanket?!!"
Then I saw it.
The most perfect horse drawn carriage ever.
I was shaking I was so excited!!

The ride was beautiful.
The weather was perfect. It started to snow just the tiniest bit while we were riding around.
It was like a movie. I loved every second of it holding back tears the entire time.
We get back to the Pfister and I think to myself, man this would have been the perfect time to propose.
Oh well, at least I got my carriage ride!

We go into the Pfister.
He pulls me aside
he gets down on one knee...

S: "NO! OMG are you SERIOUS?"
J: "I love you so much. These have been the best 8 months of my life."
S: "OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG"
J: "Will you marry me?"
S: "YES YES YES crying YES YES YES OMG YES"

I literally could not stop crying! The whole thing was a blur. Best moment of my life.
I have tears in my eyes just writing this.
I get to spend the rest of my life with Justin.
He picked me.
I'm getting married to the man of my dreams.
It doesn't feel real.
God is so so good!
Let the wedding planning begin!
Husband and Wife and Best Friends for Life!
