Love Story by Jamie Halquist

Today's love story is by my beautiful sister Jamie. I'm not going to lie, I pretty much MADE her write this. I hope you enjoy her funny/real love story.
When you're done reading be sure to check out her blog the Mommy Years.

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess who fell in love with a handsome prince. They became married and lived happily ever after ...

In their kingdom lived a young girl who was quiet and pretty shy and loved to read. Let's call her Jamie. The summer after Jamie graduated from high school, a new boy came to town. He was kind and had a love for doing crazy, daring things. Let's call him Jon.

Jon and Jamie started hanging out with the same crowd. Neither one had really ever had a true love before. Their friendship soon blossomed into a love for each other. They realized not long after dating that they would be together forever.

They were young but they were in love and thought nothing else mattered. They married 2 ½ years after they met. I'd love to say that they lived happily ever after but this is real life and life happens. They experienced ups and downs but through it all God kept them on the same path and blessed their lives with not one, not two, not even three but four wonderful children. As an added blessing, number five is due to arrive at the end of summer! They'll be celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary this spring.

You never know where life will take you. You don't know the struggles that are ahead or the pain you'll endure or even the amazing joys you will take part in. But when you keep God at the center of it all, He will guide you. He will keep you in His hand and, hopefully, one day you can look back and say “Oh, so that's why we endured that ...” God has a plan. Seek His will for your life and you'll never go wrong. Even if you've taken a different path with more rugged terrain than you were meant to, call out to God to get you back on His perfect path. It won't be completely smooth but it will be the most fulfilling.

Our love story is not finished yet. I hope the best is yet to come …

THE END
